This photograph is one of my favourites. It says it all: a photographic image paying homage to photographic images of dimming moments in time; kaleidoscopic floor-layer patterns incandescent in childhood memories; ancestors literally fading from memory; a family riven by shadows, yet frozen together in the only place that matters to all of them; wooden bed frames, once supine, now dismantled; boxes packed and taped and ready to go. previous | next
