[I had nine hours to burn in Butterworth, waiting for the next train to KL. I hopped over to Georgetown by ferry and checked into Hotel D'Budget (the corridor pictured above)]
As far north as I had travelled in Thailand, I was now being inexorably reeled back to Kuala Lumpur like a yo-yo - a nine-hour stopover in Butterworth stretching the homeward journey to three days.
